FAQs
What type of flooring should I have in my bathroom?
The constantly changing levels of moisture combined with water splashes in a bathroom can damage certain flooring. One option is luxury vinyl tiles – they are completely waterproof as vinyl won’t react with water. Laminate flooring is also water resistant up to a point, however water splashes can seep in over time if not mopped up. We wouldn’t recommend hardwood flooring or carpet – water can warp hardwood, stain carpets and make them smell.
What type of flooring should I use in my kitchen?
Heat, water splashes, grease and heavy use could all potentially damage a kitchen floor and so the selection process is very important. Luxury vinyl tiling is an option as it is waterproof and can tolerate heavy use. This type of flooring is probably the hardest wearing floor for a kitchen.
What should I consider when choosing a floor?
Certain floors are better suited to certain environments. Temperature and moisture levels must be considered, as well as the size and shape of your room. You must also consider family life and the use that the floor is going to get – children and pets may stain carpets or rip laminate.
Why is Amtico so popular?
Amtico replicates the look of natural wood planks and stone tile flooring using customized printed films that are then placed between protective layers and glued to the core. Amtico is a very popular choice for this reason.
What’s the best way to take care of my carpet?
To ensure your carpet stays looking fresh it is important to vacuum at least 3 times a week. Wherever possible, avoid laying light coloured carpets near doorways that are used frequently. If you already have light carpet near a doorway and are struggling to keep it clean, try laying a heavy duty doormat – this will reduce the amount of dirt that gets spread around the house.
